Real Madrid’s hierarchy are reportedly split in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe. Some members in the boardroom believe they should look to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen instead.
Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Mbappe for a long time now. They were deemed close to signing him in 2022 but he signed a new contract at PSG. The Frenchman’s contract expires in the summer and he could become a free agent. Los Blancos have again been linked with a move for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.
However, according to Football Transfers, some members of the Spanish club’s hierarchy believe Osimhen will be a better fit for the squad than Mbappe.

Osimhen has also been linked with a move away from Napoli in recent times, with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal being linked. He is a powerful striker, who can also link up play well. Hence, he could be a good replacement at Real Madrid for Karim Benzema, who left the club last summer to join Al-Ittihad.
Los Blancos currently have Joselu as a striker but he is expected to return to Espanyol after his loan spell is over in the summer. Hence, Osimhen can be a starter instantly. Mbappe, meanwhile, will have to compete with Vinicius Jr. on the left wing if he joins the Spanish giants.
Osimhen played a key role in helping Napoli win the Serie A last season, registering 26 goals and five assists in 32 league games.
