Saudi Pro League Team Of The Week: Game Week 6

This summer transfers helped the Saudi Pro League to compete with other football leagues at the world level. The league is reached at its Gameweek 6, where all the top fighting teams are performing to secure championship tag. Gameweek 6 of SPL ended on 17th September 2023. In this week, We have seen some fantastic performances and moments by the clubs and their players. On the basis of players’ performances, We have picked the best XI in our Saudi Pro League Team of The Week.

There have been some outstanding games which were played between the teams this Gameweek. On one hand, there were one-sided matches like Al Riyadh and Al Hilal. On the other hand, there were extremely close matches such as Al Ahli vs. Al Taawoun. Overall, Gameweek 6 has been a bundle of breathtaking matches played between the top teams of the league. Let’s have a look at the team of the week from the Saudi Pro League’s sixth match week:

Marcelo Grohe (Goalkeeper) – Al Ittihad

Marcelo Grohe has been the topmost goalkeeper of the 2022-23 season. And yet again he had been the topmost goalkeeper until the Gameweek 6 with a total of 4 goals conceded.

Saud Abdulhamid (Defender) – Al Hilal

Saud Abdulhamid played a brilliant game in the match between Al Ahli and Al Riyadh. He stayed in the match for around 99% of the time and acted as a wall in front of the attack of Al Riyadh, making his team win the match by a huge margin of 6-1.

Aymeric Laporte (Defender) – Al Nassr

This star defender of Al Nassr played for around 98% of the total minutes of the match. The star performance made by Aymeric in this match has resulted in the must-win match for Al Nassr against Al Raed, in order to strengthen its position among the top 10 teams of the league table.

Roger Ibañez (Defender) – Al Ahli

Roger Ibañez showed an outstanding performance in the match with Al Taawoun and scored an outstanding GOAL despite being in the starting position of a center-back. This goal helped in taking the decider lead to Al Hilal and making them win the clash with a scoreline of 3-2

Luiz Felipe (Defender) – Al Ittihad

Fayçal Fajr (Midfielder) – Al Wehda

Fayçal played an outstanding game against Damac. He started as an attacking midfielder in the game and provided 1 assist. He played until the final whistle of the game and strengthened the attack as well as the defense line-up of the team. This performance helped his team to win against Damac with a scoreline of 4-2.

Abbas Al-Hassan (Midfielder) – Al Fateh

Abbas played as a central midfielder in the match against Al Khaleej. He played for around 35 minutes only, but completely turned around the tide of the game by providing an outstanding assist in the game, leading his team to win with a score line-up of 1:3

Basil Yousef Al-Sayyali (Midfielder) – Al Hazm

Basil played as a defensive midfielder in the game against Al Taee. He played for around 75 minutes in the game and helped strengthen the defensive lineup of the team. This led his team to play a draw against Al Taee with a score line-up of 1-1.

Odion Ighalo (Forward) – Al Wehda

Odion with his outstanding hat trick thrashed Damac in their clash which took place on 14th September. His hat trick helped the team in taking a deciding lead of 4-2 against Damac.

Mourad Batna (Forward) – Al Fateh

In the match against Al Khaleej Mourad scored 2 goals within a span of 3 minutes in the first half only. This mesmerizing performance made his team victorious with a score line-up of 1-3 against Al Khaleej.

Salem Al-Dawsari (Forward) – Al Hilal

Salem plays as a left winger for the Al Hilal team. He scored the final 2 goals of the match with Al Riyadh leading his team to win the match against them, with a score line-up of 6-1.
