Toni Kroos Emerges as LaLiga Most Assist Maestro- Leads the Race After Gameweek 25

La Liga is a home to some top individual talents across the footballing world including world-class midfielders and wingers who might not be on the scoresheet as regularly but never miss to display their creative prowess with brilliant assists and chances created on the field. 

Here are some of those players who have had a huge impact in the charts for the top assists in La Liga 2023/24 season:

Toni Kroos | 7 Assists

Real Madrid legend and the German sniper, Toni Kroos has always been in a league of his own with this dominance in the midfield and this season has been no different. Kroos has assisted seven times in the league, along with a passing accuracy of 94%, the most by any player in La Liga this season. He currently is the joint top assister along with Girona’s Savio and Villarreal’s Alex Baena with 7 assists. 

Savio | 7 Assists

On the other hand, Girona’s Brazilian youngster Savio has been one of their most important players this season, not just in terms of assists but also the goals that he has scored. The Manchester City loanee has scored five goals this season with his seven assists. 

Alex Baena | 7 Assists

22-year-old Spanish youngster, Alex Baena has been in brilliant form for the Yellow Submarines this season. Baena has seven assists to his name and has been an integral part of a team that has been struggling for the majority of the current season.

Antoine Griezmann| 6 Assists

Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann has arguably been the best player so far this season along with Jude Bellingham. The Frenchmen has assisted six goals for the Roji Blancos so far this season along with 11 goals to his name. Griezmann has always been Diego Simeone’s trump card and will continue to be so as the season progresses. 

Atletico are currently fourth in the table and have been closely followed by Athletic Club at the fifth position. In such circumstances, Griezmann’s current form could be the difference in Atletico’s race for the Champions League qualifying spots. 

Ilkay Gundogan | 6 Assists

Coming to former Manchester City treble winner and Barcelona’s latest signing this season, Ilkay Gundogan has been nothing but magisterial in the Blaugrana midfield. The German midfielder has assisted six goals in the league this season and is also the player with 61 chances and 2.44 chances created per 90.

Since joining from Manchester City in the summer, Gundogan has been one of the most influential players for the defending Champions so far this season and would be a decisive player in upcoming games as well as the Azulgranas attempt to cut down the 8-point deficit between them and first placed Los Blancos to win the title race. 

Apart from Griezmann and Gundogan, the younger half of the Williams brothers, Nico Williams, and Girona’s Yan Couto have contributed six assists for their respective teams this season.
