Tottenham vs Luton Town Preview:
- Date: 30 March, Saturday
- Kick-off Time: 3:00 PM (GMT)
- Stadium: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
In a battle where three points are of extreme importance to either side, Tottenham will host Luton Town in their first game after the conclusion of the two-week-long March international break. Matchday 30 will see Tottenham enter the tie in 5th place, only three points behind Unai Emery’s Aston Villa. A win could boost Tottenham’s chances of finishing in a Champions League spot as they also have a game in hand. Spurs will look to recover from their shock 3-0 loss against Fulham in their previous match and return to winning ways after a long break.
On the other end of the spectrum are Luton Town. The newly promoted Luton have had an interesting season in the Premier League till now and are currently in a tricky 17th place in the league table. Despite not winning any of their previous five ties, Luton have somehow managed to escape the relegation zone due to Nottingham’s four-point deduction by the Premier League. While the club can enjoy their current rendezvous with safety in the Premier League, if Nottingham’s appeal is accepted and their points are restored, Luton could be in severe trouble. A win in the Tottenham vs Luton Town tie could help them announce their intentions of staying in the Premier League for another season.

Tottenham vs Luton Town Team News:
Tottenham:
The mighty Spurs have enjoyed a great 23/24 campaign after a forgettable 22/23 season. In a season where the aim was to build a competitive side, Ange Postecoglou has done a tremendous job. However, injuries have started slowing the side down as they look to secure a top 4 berth by the end of the season.
Against Luton Town, Tottenham will be without the services of Ryan Sessegnon. The young left wingback has been suffering from hamstring issues all season long and his latest hamstring surgery has once again put him in the recovery ward. It is unclear as to when the defender will return to the squad, but he will miss the game against Luton. Young center-back Micky van de Ven has also impressed this season however a recent injury will sideline him for the Luton tie. Tottenham’s reserve goalkeepers Fraser Forster and Alfie Whiteman will continue to recover from their injuries as well.
Meanwhile, Manor Solomon’s long-term injury will see the player remain on the sidelines for an indefinite period. Ange and Tottenham will hope that none of their crucial players returns from the international break with an injury ahead of the Tottenham vs Luton Town tie.
Luton Town:
Luton Town’s abysmal performance in the past couple of months is directly related to their long list of injuries. The Hatters have nearly their entire first team ruled out with injuries and most of them are unlikely to recover in time to make the tie against Tottenham.
Luton’s problems began back in December when captain and central defender Tom Lockyer suffered a shocking cardiac arrest on the pitch ruling him out from the sport for a long long time. Since then, Luton have also lost Mads Juel Anderson, Gabriel Osho, Amari’i Bell, Daniel Potts and Joseph Johnson in defense. Talk about a defensive crisis! While Osho and Anderon might return to the squad for Luton’s visit to Tottenham, it is unknown if they will be fit enough to play. Given the urgency of earning three points and Luton’s lack of options in defense, the Hatters might be forced to play the two experienced defenders right from the start.
In the midfield, Luton will be without the services of Marvelous Nakamba and Jacob Brown. The duo are unlikely to return to the side anytime soon as they have both sustained serious injuries. Luton will hope that Albert Sambi Lokonga will be fit enough to take the field against Tottenham as he recently returned to training from an injury.
However, the biggest miss will be Elijah Adebayo. The striker has been Luton’s top scorer and since he sustained his thigh injury, the Hatters have been terrible in front of goal. His injury will see him return in May and he will miss the Tottenham vs Luton Town tie.

Tottenham vs Luton Town Prediction:
Tottenham comes into the game with several players involved in the March international break while Luton are well rested.
