What are the UEFA EURO 2024 play-offs?
In the qualifiers, teams were divided into ten groups, with the winners and runners-up qualifying for the final. Now, 12 are selected based on their performances in the UEFA Nationals League and are divided into three groups.
Unlike the qualifiers, teams do not play all the other sides in the group in a home-and-away format. Instead, they face off in a one-off game, which is treated as a semifinal.
The winners progress to the final and will take on the other side that won their semifinal in the group. The winner of this clash will make it to the group stages of the UEFA EURO 2024 final.
