What is the UEFA EURO Playoff?
Twenty-four teams are set to play at the EUROs 2024 this summer, but only twenty have qualified. The hosts, Germany, have gained an automatic spot in the tournament, and now the final three spots are up for grabs.
There are currently 12 teams in the running for the final spots, and they face off in the UEFA EURO Playoff this month. Poland, Estonia, Wales, Finland, Israel, Iceland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Georgia, Luxembourg, Greece, and Kazakhstan are the teams left in the battle.
They were divided into three groups, and the draws were done.
When is the UEFA EURO Playoff?
The pathway to the UEFA EURO finals has two rounds left for the 12 teams fighting for the three spots. The first round, which is referred to as the semi-final by UEFA, takes place on March 21st and 22nd.
The three UEFA EURO Playoff groups, referred to as paths by UEFA, are as follows:
Path A: Poland vs Estonia, Wales vs Finland
Path B: Israel vs Iceland, Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Ukraine
Path C: Georgia vs Luxembourg, Greece vs Kazakhstan

The winners of each match face off against the winners of the other game in their Path. The ‘finals’ take place on March 26th, and the following is the fixture list set right now:
Path A: Wales/Finland vs Poland/Estonia
Path B: Bosnia and Herzegovina/Ukraine vs Israel/Iceland
Path C: Georgia/Luxembourg vs Greece/Kazakhstan
The single-legged UEFA EURO Playoff knockout tournament will determine the final three teams in Groups D, E, and F. All other groups for the UEFA EURO 2024 are filled with the other 21 teams that have already sealed their place.
Path A winners will be placed in Group D after the playoffs this month. The Netherlands, Austria, and France have already been drawn into the group and be joined by one of Poland, Wales, Finland, and Estonia.
Group E currently comprises of Belgium, Slovakia, and Romania, with one of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Israel, and Iceland battling for the final spot. Similarly, Path C winners will enter Group F and join Turkey, Portugal, and the Czech Republic this summer.
