  • Tournament – Premier League
  • Date – Friday, February 2, 2024
  • Kick-off Time – 01:00 am IST

West Ham United will host Bournemouth in a crucial Premier League clash on February 2. Both sides have struggled for form in recent games, with the Hammers winless in their last four games across competitions.

West Ham were eliminated from the FA Cup third round as they lost 1-0 against Bristol City in their replay. They then played out a 2-2 draw against Sheffield United in the league.

They are, however, unbeaten in their last five Premier League games and are sixth in the table. Bournemouth, meanwhile, are 12th and have lost their last two league games.

The Cherries hammered Swansea City 5-0 in their FA Cup fourth-round clash and will certainly come into the West Ham game with good confidence.

Prediction

Both sides had excellent spells towards the end of 2023, getting some excellent results and putting in brilliant performances. However, their levels have clearly dropped this month due to their injuries and absentees due to international duty.

West Ham are without a win in their last four games and will hope to avoid more slip-ups in their pursuit of European places. Bournemouth, meanwhile, come into the game on the back of a big result and will look to translate it into the Premier League as well.

It’ll likely be a tight game with both sides scoring.

Players to Watch Out For

West Ham

Jarrod Bowen will be the key player for West Ham against Bournemouth. The English attacker has scored 14 goals and provided five assists in 27 games across competitions for the Hammers this season.

With Mohammed Kudus out on international duty, Bowen will be expected to bear the goalscoring responsibility for West Ham.

Bournemouth

For Bournemouth, Dominic Solanke will again be in the limelight. The striker has scored 13 goals and contributed two assists in 24 games across competitions this season.

While he hasn’t scored in his last two Premier League games, Solanke registered one goal and one assist in Bournemouth’s 5-0 win over Swansea. He will look to add to his tally against West Ham.
