Wolves vs Coventry Preview:

The quarter-finals of the FA Cup will kick off with Wolves vs Coventry. Wolves will host Coventry in a match where they will look to emerge victorious over the young Championship side. Wolverhampton come into the game against Coventry on the back of a slender 2-1 win against Fulham.

The residents of Molineux Stadium have had an impressive season in the Premier League till now as they sit in the top half of the table with 41 points. For context, Wolves managed to accumulate 41 points in the entirety of last season in the league. While their form has dwindled a little in the last few weeks, they will certainly fancy their chances against Coventry.

On the other end of the spectrum are Coventry. The Championship side has made a brave run into the deep waters of the final stages of the FA Cup. In the Championship, they currently sit one point off the Championship play-off spots. They will enter the battle at Molineux Stadium on the back of an impressive 2-1 victory against Watford. While they are the clear underdogs not only in the tie against Wolves but also in the FA Cup, they will be eager to complete their historic run with the FA cup victory however unlikely that may be.

Under the tutelage of Gary O’Neil the club has made incredible progress. Going forward, Wolves have been more attacking and have looked to procure victory even against the big six in the Premier League. However, their slowdown recently has been a result of several injuries holding the club back.

On Saturday, Wolves will be without the services of striker Pedro Neto. The forward has been the cornerstone of Wolves’ attack and his hamstring injury on 9 March was a big blow. Neto will not feature against Coventry. His partner in attack and ex-Atletico Madrid man Matheus Cunha also sustained an injury back in February. While he is expected to return soon, he is unlikely to participate in Wolves vs Coventry on the weekend. Hee-Chan Hwang has also been crucial to Wolves going forward and his recent injury will continue to sideline him for the FA Cup tie. Jean Ricner Bellegarde is also likely to miss the FA Cup fixture.

The Championship side is on course to finish the season in an incredible position. Their consistency has been a result of great rotation and adaptability of the squad to conditions. Coventry will arrive at the Molineux stadium with a fully stacked squad bar two injuries.

Tatsuhiro Sakamoto sustained an unfortunate back injury in February and was ruled out for the season. Joining him on the sidelines will be Jamie Allen who broke his cheekbone in February. The midfielder will continue to recover from injury on the sidelines.

Wolves vs Coventry Prediction:

While Coventry has historically dominated the tie between the two sides, today the stronger side is undoubtedly Wolves. Wolves will look to build on their win over Fulham on the weekend and extend their run in the FA Cup.
