Wolves vs Man United Summary

Manchester United rallied to hold off Wolverhampton’s late surge to secure a thrilling 4-3 win at the Molineux Stadium in the Premier League on Friday, February 2.

The visitors made the perfect start as Rasmus Hojlund set Marcus Rashford up to open the scoring after just five minutes. Hojlund then grabbed a goal for himself with a smart finish to double the Red Devils’ lead after 22 minutes.

United dominated the first half with 55% of the ball, attempting eight shots with just the two for their goals on target. They allowed two shots on their goal as well but Andre Onana dealt with the danger well in the first period. Wolves trailed 2-0 at the break.

Gary O’Neil made changes to try and turn things around for his team, with a penalty by Pablo Sarabia in the 71st minute giving them hope. Scott McTominay then restored Manchester United’s two-goal lead after an assist by Bruno Fernandes just four minutes after conceding. However, Wolves were no pushovers and scored their second in the 85th minute via Max Kilman.

Matheus Cunha and Pedro Neto combined for a late goal to send the Molineux faithful into raptures as the scores were level at 3-3. United had one last trick up their sleeve, though, with Kobbie Mainoo scoring the winning goal in the 97th minute to secure three points.
