Rayan Aït-Nouri has been one of the most interesting wide defenders in the Premier League this season. In terms of Fantasy Premier League, he doesn’t rank highly among defenders for total points but he has incredible potential. The Algerian covers ground very well, bobbing up and down the wing, and gets a lot of Bonus Points in the game too. He is not only a great defender, but his attacking returns include 3 goals and 2 assists already this season. Wolves have made a poor start to the season so far and sit 18th in the Premier League this season. This weekend, they face a weak Everton side.

Marc Cucurella has made a name for himself as a reliable defensive choice in Fantasy Premier League. This is in particular notable due to his consistent performances this season and the attractive price tag of just £5.0m. The Chelsea defender has really established himself as the undisputed LB and is fast becoming an invaluable asset for them. The Blues had a rough couple of seasons, however, they have bounced back recently with some impressive showings this season. Cucurella has been one of the transformations of the season. Chelsea and the Spaniard will be looking forward to maintaining their positive performance this weekend, facing a struggling Southampton team.

3. Pedro Porro – Tottenham Hotspur | 51 points | £5.6m

Spurs have had a mixed time which is what they have come to symbolise. On one level, they smashed Manchester City 4-0, while the next week they drew 1-1 with Fulham. Pedro Porro though has been doing well. He has scored 2 and assisted 1 in the Premier League so far. Tottenham’s next game is against Bournemouth and the Spanish defender is supposed to get some attacking returns. Porro is an attacking presence who gets forward and is heavily involved in all of Spurs’ attacks. It remains to be seen whether he can get some good points this weekend.

2. Virgil Van Dijk – Liverpool | 63 points | £6.4m

Virgil Van Dijk is one of the best defenders in the world as well as in Fantasy Premier League. Liverpool are in splendid form and are on the top of the table and the Dutchman has been the most important player in their defence. He is also coming off a fantastic game against Manchester City, where he was incredibly dominant and almost unplayable. Liverpool have conceded in just one of their last 5 games. In addition, Van Dijk has even scored and assisted one each. This weekend, they face a struggling Newcastle side, who have not found form this season.

1. Trent Alexander-Arnold – Liverpool | 55 points | £6.9m

Trent Alexander-Arnold could make this list every weekend and that is because he is one of the best Fantasy Premier League assets of all time. In terms of defenders, he is among the most valuable ones also in price as well as the points he has earned. Already this season, the Englishman has 55 points which is not even one of his better campaigns in terms of points. However, he has played really well in the actual games and was outstanding against Manchester City this weekend. The points could come again this weekend versus Newcastle, as Liverpool looks to continue their fantastic start to the season.

As we turn our attention to Gameweek 14, the Premier League serves up another tantalizing set of fixtures. The highlight of the weekend is undoubtedly the game between Manchester United and Arsenal. The Gunners have returned to form and must win to not get too cut off from Liverpool at the top of the table. United on the other hand will be looking to get their first big scalp under new manager Ruben Amorim.

The deadline for GW 14 is on December 3rd.
