Recently, the former Los Blancos midfielder was asked his choice in the long-standing Greatest of All Time (GOAT) debate between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi — two of the greatest ever to grace the game. The 2014 FIFA World Cup Champion, Khedira had played seven long years for Real Madrid alongside Ronaldo and faced Messi numerous times as rivals. However, it wasn’t a difficult task for him to reveal his preference in the timeless discussion.

During his recent appearance with talkSPORT, the retired midfielder labelled the current Al Nassr’s megastar and Portuguese icon Cristiano as the Greatest but at the same time acknowledged Messi’s monumental work.
“From my point of view, Sami Khedira said, “it’s Cristiano. It’s not a disrespect against Messi because what he has achieved and is still doing, especially in the U.S. is amazing.”
He added, “But I know Cristiano; I played with him for seven years in Madrid and Juventus. I know him personally quite well, so I’m 100 percent team Ronaldo but with all due respect to Messi.”
Khedria has been a great admire of his former teammate having shared the dressing room with the five-time Ballon Dor winner twice in the Spanish capital and Turin, Italy achieving success with Real Madrid and Juventus respectively, was adequate to make him a strong advocate of Ronaldo’s greatness.
