Danilo Pereira

Al-Ittihad approached Paris Saint-Germain regarding Danilo Pereira

Saudi Arabian giants, Al-Ittihad are lining up a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s central defender, Danilo Pereira. The Portuguese has witnessed himself slide down the pecking order at the Parc des Princes. Luis Enrique’s side is still very much active in the summer transfer window and is looking at huge potential incomings. For that to happen though, departures are a requisite and Danilo looks to be one of those who might be sacrificed for the upcoming season.

Al-Ittihad has been one of the busiest Middle-East clubs this summer. Moussa Diaby and Houssem Aouar have been the big-name arrivals from Europe already and the side has now set its sights on Danilo from PSG. According to the French outlet, L’Equipe, the Parisian team has received an inquiry from Al-Ittihad, which indicates that the deal is still in the early stages. Fellow Portuguese player, Jota is on the verge of leaving Saudi Arabia which might finance Danilo’s signing.

Luis Enrique has deemed Danilo Pereira as surplus to his demands. The 32-year-old has been associated with the French giants since the 2020/21 season. He has been a regular and reliable option for them since then. However, the likes of Marquinhos, Lucas Hernandez, Presnel Kimpembe, and Lucas Beraldo have gained prominence in the coach’s plans leading to Danilo being open to a move away.

Danilo joins Paris Saint-Germain’s list of ‘Undesirables’

Paris Saint-Germain is certainly notorious for a cruel and harsh approach towards players on the transfer list. Previous years have displayed the state of players being asked to train separately from the main squad in order to force them to leave. Currently, several names have been termed as undesirable at PSG to accommodate space for replacements.

Manuel Ugarte, Juan Bernat, Nordi Mukiele, Carlos Soler, and Milan Skriniar have all joined Danilo in being excluded from the matchday squad for the game against Montpellier this weekend. Ademola Lookman is rumoured to be one of those nearing a move to Paris Saint-Germain. Al-Ittihad will be delighted to complete the signing of a seasoned international from Europe with more than enough experience at the top level.
