Barcelona’s rising star Aleix Garrido has been hit with another unfortunate injury. The 20-year-old midfielder who was eager to impress new first-team manager Hansi Flick during pre-season has had to undergo surgery once more due to a recurring foot injury.
Garrido (a product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy) was notably absent from the first training session under Flick’s watch raising concerns among fans.
The club later confirmed that he needed another operation on the fifth metatarsal fracture of his left foot an injury he first sustained earlier this year.
Frustrating Timing for the Young Talent
This setback comes at a particularly bad time for Garrido. He had hoped to secure a spot in the first team this season showcasing his skills during pre-season games Instead he now faces a lengthy recovery process.
Garrido’s determination to make an impact was clear but this injury will delay his ambitions. As Barcelona’s statement mentioned his recovery timeline is uncertain and will depend on how well he heals from this latest surgery.
This news is a disappointment for both the player and fans who were eager to see more of his talent on the pitch.
The young midfielder must now focus on his recovery hoping to return stronger and eventually earn his place in Hansi Flick’s squad.
