Stunning stat follows Cristiano Ronaldo record and could be football’s most unbelievable yet

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his record-breaking 900th career goal helping create a stat of remarkable value.

Portugal kickstarted their UEFA Nations League campaign by hosting Croatia, where Cristiano Ronaldo took the spotlight as usual, but this time all eyes did not blink.

Ronaldo made history by putting his side 2-0 up in the 34th minute, with Portugal winning 2-1.

The 39-year-old perfectly connected volley from Nuno Mendes’ cross from close range, taking his to 900 career goals and doubling Portugal’s lead.

Even though the data for the all-time leading scorer in men’s football is not appropriate, Ronaldo cemented himself as the first male player ever to score 900 goals in official matches.

Despite claims of Brazilian legends Pele and Romario scoring over 1,000 goals each, excluding friendlies would drop the equation to 700s in official games.

As per reports from Statisticians RSSSF, Pele scored 778 goals in official matches, while Romario scored 785.

Meanwhile, Argentine rival Lionel Messi has 867 career goals to his name.

However, a TNT social media post just showed a different stat, that will blow your mind.

After turning 30, Ronaldo scored 437 goals, which is more goals than Didier Drogba, Thierry Henry, and Wayne Rooney scored across their entire careers.

Ronaldo’s recent strike took his international tally to 131, further extending the leading scorers chart.

In the royal white of Real Madrid, he scored half (450) of his career goals, while he scored 145 across two spells at Manchester United.

For Italian side Juventus Ronaldo scored 101 times and bagged 68 goals in less than two years for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.

In the early days, the forward scored five goals for his first club Sporting Lisbon, scoring at the age of 17 in the year 2002.
