Liverpool are working carefully to welcome their players back on the pitch, Jurgen Klopp confirmed. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, and Diogo Jota have been training together in a separate group from the rest of the squad over the last three weeks. However, the club are not in a rush to push those players back into action.
Liverpool Injury Update: The Reds are in a no-rush situation
During the absence of Alisson, Liverpool have relied on Caoimhin Kelleher who has not been disappointing so far, winning the second Carabao Cup for the club in three years. Alexander-Arnold’s non-attendance was also managed well with the presence of Conor Bradley.
“They are now back in training and now we have to see how we involve them and how we use them,” Klopp said via Liverpool’s official website. “That we need them is clear. But we need them in the best possible shape, and we want to give them kind of rhythm.
“It’s always a challenge trying to reintegrate the guys. With the quality they have it should be easier, and we will use them in the next days and weeks, but what it means for tomorrow I didn’t make a decision yet.”
Meanwhile for Jota, The Reds have several options upfront with Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Luis Diaz playing together. However, Klopp understands the fans’ concern about Liverpool’s attacking front as several chances have been wasted lately.
“We will have to see that. So, obviously we didn’t rush it with the boys. You can but we didn’t, that means they did a lot of training by themselves, especially Diogo and Trent, [they] worked as a group for two or three weeks really properly training. So, [they] looked very good yesterday, to be honest.”
