Kylian Mbappe finally set to debut for Real Madrid in UEFA Super Cup

The moment Real Madrid has been waiting for the past four long seasons is finally here. 25-year-old French star Kylian Mbappe is all set to debut for the Galacticos after a prolonged transfer saga.

The debut of the sensational Real Madrid signing is set to happen at one of the biggest stage of European club football, when the winners of the Champions League and Europa League will lock horns to determine the winners of the coveted UEFA Super Cup 2024 at the National Stadium in Warsaw on August 14, 2024

Kylian Mbappe was signed on a free deal from Paris Saint Germain after his contract expired this transfer window. The new No. 9 of Real Madrid is reported to draw a salary of INR 285 crores from the Spanish giants with this move. He was presented in front of thousands of fans at the iconic Santiago Bernabeu last month, but was not a part of Real Madrid’s US tour.

What did Ancelotti say about Kylian Mbappe’s availability for the UEFA Super Cup?

Now, it’s time for the long wait to end. As said by head coach Carlo Ancelotti at the pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Kylian Mbappe “could play” the UEFA Super Cup one-off game. Mbappe has joined an already lethal batch of existing Real Madrid forwards, making their attack stronger than any other club at the moment (arguably). On being asked what he thinks about this, Carlo Ancelotti joked that it had ruined his holidays, as he was thinking about who would play.

On being asked about a possible change in the atmosphere of the locker room after the French star’s arrival, the Italian said that the club has a healthy, clean, and kind atmosphere, and “There are no princes or kings here.”

Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperino, whose team will enter the game as underdogs, wished that Real Madrid play with a full squad. As playing against the strongest makes one gain “maximum respect”.
