Pedro Porro gets message of support after missing out on Spain’s EURO 2024 squad

Pedro Porro has been showered with support from Tottenham players after he was left out of the Spain squad for Euro 2024.

The Spaniard did not make the provisional list, and he was quick to react on social media. He posted two photos on his Instagram account and revealed that he was excited to play for his country, but has to wait a while longer.

The right-back was in fine form this season, but that has still not earned him a spot on the flight to Germany. He added that he respected the decision and wrote:

“I was very excited about the possibility of being able to represent my country in the Euros, but in the end it won’t be possible this year. Respect and admiration for all of the players who will be defending our colours. From here I will be supporting the team hoping we have great joy. Come on guys.”

Son Heung-Min was one of the first to react and wrote, “You Are the Best,” while Cristian Romero expressed his shock and said, “Come on bro, unbelieveable!”

Dani Carvajal [Real Madrid], Micky van de Van, Brenan Johnson, Sergio Reguilón and Alejandro Balde were also seen in the comments section showing their support.

Spain’s provisional squad for EURO 2024:

Goalkeepers: Unai Simon (Athletic Bilbao), Alex Remiro (Real Sociedad), David Raya (Arsenal).

Defenders: Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid), Jesus Navas (Sevilla), Aymeric Laporte (Al-Nassr), Nacho Fernandez (Real Madrid), Robin Le Normand (Real Sociedad), Pau Cubarsi (Barcelona), Dani Vivian (Athletic Bilbao), Alex Grimaldo (Bayer Leverkusen), Marc Cucurella (Chelsea).

Midfielders: Rodrigo (Manchester City), Martin Zubimendi (Real Sociedad), Fabian Ruiz (Paris St-Germain), Mikel Merino (Real Sociedad), Pedri (Barcelona), Marcos Llorente (Atletico Madrid), Aleix Garcia (Girona), Alex Baena (Villarreal), Fermin Lopez (Barcelona).

Forwards: Alvaro Morata (Atletico Madrid), Joselu (Real Madrid), Dani Olmo (Leipzig), Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao), Mikel Oyarzabal (Real Sociedad), Ayoze Perez (Real Betis), Ferran Torres (Barcelona), Lamine Yamal (Barcelona)

From the 29-man list announced this week, three players will face similar fate as Pedro Porro and miss out on the flight to Germany. UEFA increased the squad numbers from 23 to 26 this summer after an appeal from several managers due to injury concerns.
