The UEFA Europa League prize money:
Over the years the UEFA Europa League (UEL) has cemented its place as one of the most exciting and prestigious European football leagues in the world. The clubs that are slowly rising towards a potential UEFA Champions League spot in their particular league’ table often first target the UEL as the stepping stone in their journey. Also, the winners of the Europa League now get a direct entry into the league phase of the following season’s Champions League.
The competition is contested by the different qualified European clubs from their respective country’s leagues. A total of 48 teams lock horns across the six established rounds of the league to get their hands on the iconic Europa League trophy. When it comes to the UEFA Europa League prize money, the team that went on to lift the title reportedly gets a monetary figure of about £7.8 million (as per the 2022-2023 season).
The 2022-2023 Europa League was won by the La Liga club Sevilla FC who defeated the Seria A club AS Roma in the finals on penalties to grab the title. In the same season, the runner-up got a monetary sum of £4.2 million and the semi-finalists got a revenue share of around £2.5 million (as per the figures reported by Goal.com).
