Man Who Saved Rishabh Pant Now Fights for His Own Life

A 25-year-old man who helped save Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant’s life is now fighting for his own. The man named Rajat Kumar came into the spotlight after rescuing the Indian ace batter from a horrific car crash in 2022. According to the latest reports, on February 9, Rajat and his 21-year-old girlfriend, Manu Kashyap, attempted suicide by consuming poison in Buchha Basti.

The village is situated in the Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh where a local villager spotted the couple squirming on the ground and informed the other residents. The couple was rushed to a local hospital as they fought for their lives. Later the girl’s family took her to another hospital where she reportedly died in the early hours of Tuesday.

The young couple took this extreme step after their families strongly opposed their relationship. Their families had already arranged their marriages elsewhere, refusing to accept their love due to caste differences. Sadly, Manu couldn’t survive and passed away during treatment, while Rajat remains in critical condition at the hospital.

Rajat has been accused of murder

Following Manu’s death, her mother made a shocking claim—accusing Rajat of kidnapping her daughter and poisoning her. The incident has added another tragic chapter to an already heartbreaking story.

In December 2022 on the fateful winter night, he and another local, Nishu Kumar, played a crucial role in rescuing Rishabh Pant after the cricketer’s car crashed into a divider and caught fire near Roorkee. Rajat and Nishu, who were working at a nearby factory, rushed to the scene immediately and pulled Pant from the burning wreckage. The two young men sought immediate medical help and played a crucial role in saving the young cricketer’s life.
