This season, Liverpool talisman Mo Salah and Real Madrid ace winger Vinicius are leading the Ballon d’Or 2025 Rankings race as favourites to claim the French accolade. The attacking duo is closely contesting for the honour courtesy of their remarkable individual performances.
During the Champions League show of CBS Sports, presenter Kate Abdo asked the show’s esteemed and beloved panel consisting of Theiry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richard to reveal their predictions for this year’s Ballon d’Or chase.
“Mohamed Salah!” answered the Ex-Liverpool defender. Meanwhile, Henry agreed with his co-panelist stating, “I’m with Jamie, yeah, if he carries on like that.” Richard with slight hesitation said, “He (Vinicius) is my mate but probably Salah as well.”
The Egypt International, Salah is enjoying an extraordinary campaign already bagged 27 goals and 19 assists in 35 appearances for the Premier League giants. Consequently, the Reds are currently at the top of the league standings and finished first in the UEFA Champions League league phase.

Meanwhile, his Brazilian counterpart continues to play a remarkable role in Carlo Ancelotti’s star-studded team despite injury and suspension. The 24-year-old has made 28 goal contributions which include 16 goals and 12 assists while playing 30 games in this 2024/25 campaign.
Last year, Man City’s Spanish midfield hero Rodri was crowned as the best player distinction ahead of Vinicus jr, who documented his best-ever individual campaign for Los Blancos guiding them to UEFA Champions League and La Liga glory.
